My xbox 360 has developed 3 red lights. I called microsoft and they told me I could send it to them and they would fix it for 80 pounds and it takes 3 weeks. This is disgusting behavour on their part. I was disgusted. anyway, i went to youtube and watched every video that showed how to fix the xbox problem and they were mainly all rubbish, as i found out later that each video has something or other missing, so unless you add all the videos up together, you wont get the complete fix.
I decided I would give it a go and to my surprise, I finally fixed it and have fixed 4 others since then. I have taught myself everything you need to know and more importantly, IT COSTS NO MONEY AT ALL, AND I HAVE NO ELECTRONICS OR ELECTRICAL BACKGROUND OR KNOWLEDGE.
I have a suspicion that nobody will read this article, so i wont go into to much detail, unless someone asks. The simple points are these:
1) open the thing and take out the motherboard.
2) clean the chip and put thermal gel/soudo cream on it.
3) put 8 washers under some screws.
4) start it up and it will show 3 lights.
5) let it run for 2.5 minutes and the lights will turn to 2 light.
6) put it back together and wait 2 hours and keep it in a cool place.
THATS IT. It is so easy that I am amazed that people actually sell this information. I feel that its so easy anybody at all can do it. If you want detailed instructions and a few links to the correct videos, let me know and I will post them.
